Competitive Youth Rowing

The heart of Rose City Rowing Club is the competitive youth program. The competitive program aims to develop kids into competent athletes while at the same time teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, citizenship, and the value of hard work. Daily practices are three hours, beginning at 3:30 every weekday after school. In addition, athletes will travel on weekends to compete in regattas.

Camps for Beginners

Two-week rowing camps (one in September, November and February) are offered each year to beginners who are interested in entering the competitive rowing program. Rowing camps include ten classes on consecutive week days and teach the basics of the sport while at the same time giving participants an idea of the commitment involved in rowing in the competitive program.
