Directions to the Boathouse

Rose City Rowing Club is located in the Portland Boathouse on the east bank of the Willamette River, at the east end of the Hawthorne Bridge, just north of OMSI.

From Interstate 5, Southbound

  • Travel south on I-5
  • Take exit 300B
  • Once on the exit, move to the left-most lane
  • Follow the OMSI signs (in brown)
  • The signs will lead you off the freeway to Belmont Avenue
  • Continue east on Belmont to 7th Avenue
  • Turn right (south) onto 7th Avenue
  • Continue south to Clay Street
  • Turn right (west) onto Clay Street
  • Continue to the end of Clay Street into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From Interstate 5, Northbound

  • Travel north on I-5
  • After crossing the Marquam/I-5 bridge, move to the right-most lane
  • Take exit 300, the first exit immediately after taking the ramp to I-84 eastbound
  • This exit is marked "OMSI/Central Eastside Industrial District"
  • Turn right (south) onto Water Avenue (Located at the first intersection)
  • Continue south to Clay Street
  • Turn right into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From Hiighway 26, Eastbound

  • As you approach Portland on Hwy 26 eastbound, stay in the right-most lane
  • After going through the Hwy 26 tunnel, take the ramp that merges onto I-405 southbound
  • Once on I-405 southbound, follow the signs to I-5 northbound/I-84 westbound
  • Stay in the right-most lane after crossing the Marquam/I-5 bridge
  • Follow the ramp leading to I-84 eastbound
  • Take exit 300, the first exit immediately after taking the ramp to I-84 eastbound
  • This exit is marked "OMSI/Central East side Industrial District"
  • Turn right (south) onto Water Ave at the first stop sign
  • Continue south to Clay Street
  • Turn right into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From I-84, Westbound

  • Travel west, passing the Lloyd Center exit
  • Move to the center lane of the freeway
  • As I-84 merges with I-5, follow the OMSI signs (in brown)
  • The signs will lead you off the freeway to Belmont Avenue
  • Continue east on Belmont to 7th Avenue
  • Turn right (south) onto 7th Avenue
  • Continue south to Clay Street
  • Turn right (west) onto Clay Street
  • Continue to the end of Clay Street into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (Hwy 99E), Southbound

  • Travel south until reaching Taylor Street
  • Turn right (west) onto Taylor Street
  • Continue west until reaching Water Avenue
  • Turn left (south) onto Water Avenue
  • Continue south to Clay Street
  • Turn right into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From Grand Avenue, (99E), Northbound

  • Travel north until reaching Clay Street
  • Turn left (west) onto Clay Street
  • Continue to the end of Clay Street into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From From Downtown Portland, via the Morrison and Hawthorne Bridges

  • Travel east across the Morrison Bridge (Alder Street) or Hawthorne Bridge (Jefferson Street)
  • Stay in the right lane
  • Continue east until reaching 7th Avenue
  • Turn right (south) onto 7th Avenue
  • Continue south until reaching Clay Street
  • Continue to the end of Clay Street into the parking lot
  • The Portland Boathouse and RCRC will be on the right

From Portland International Airport

  • Head East on Airport Way.
  • Then head South on I-205 to I-84 WeStreet
  • Travel west, passing the Lloyd Center exit
